In
addition to your child being safe and happy Annies Nursery has a
Music Specialist. Music is enjoyed by all children and it has so many
positive effects on the development of a child. Using music in the early
years supports childrens all round development in areas such as
confidence, motor skills, speech, creativity, imagination, concentration,
memory, sequencing and listening skills. Music is a daily experience at
Annies Nursery.
singing
Singing is one of the best activities a child can do. It is so enjoyable
and brings with it a wealth of benefits. It helps to develop speech, memory,
sequencing, concentration, listening skills and confidence. Singing in
a group is very rewarding and every child has a sense of belonging.
music
and movement
Children love songs with actions and this also aids development. Music
and movement together helps develop motor skills, concentration, memory,
sequencing and teaches the children how to watch, listen and copy. Most
importantly great exercise too!
creativity and imagination
Children delight in the opportunity to listen to different kinds of music
letting them use their imagination to create movements, stories or animals
that the music reminds them of and then acting it out.
instruments
All children love making a noise! Percussion instruments are of course
the best for this and there are plenty to go round. Through playing these
instruments children learn sound and silence, being able to listen to
one another, develop a sense of rhythm, practise coordination and motor
skills. And whats more release all that energy!
