Hi Im Lucy and i joined Annies as Manager in October 2023. I have worked as a Manager at a playgroup in Inverurie for 7 years and as a Practitioner for 4 years prior to this. I graduated from Aberdeen University in June this year with my BA in Childhood Practice. I have had a few different jobs in the past including a phlebotomist for 10 years but in 2012 i embarked on a career change into childcare and have never looked back! I have 4 children of my own and as they grow up and fly the nest i now have a great opportunity to manage Annie's and help the staff here to continue to provide a welcoming, safe and fun home from home setting for children in their early years. In my spare time i love to bake and if i get the time i like to bake special occasion cakes for family and friends. My 5 year old golden retriever is my baby at home and he helps me to get out walking to keep fit. I am excited to see Annies grow and flourish.
Hi I’m Abbie, I am the 0-2 Room Lead and I work from Tuesday - Friday. I’ve always loved being around children, from a young age I knew I wanted to have a career in childcare. I have a HNC childhood practice and after going to college and having experiences in a range of school, home and private settings I have settled so well at Annie’s! I enjoy spending time outdoors with the children as it reminds me of how I grew up - playing outside in the woods with my sibling and cousins, and having to be chased inside at bedtime with my childhood best friend as we had too much fun playing outside!
At home I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, I am a social person and love going out for food and a few drinks! I have 2 cocker spaniels who I enjoy
walking and love to explore new places near and far! I love baking when I have some spare time to whip up a cake or fancy pieces. I love a good horror film and enjoy going to concerts.
At work I enjoy having fun and not taking things too seriously! We can all be ourselves and have a good laugh together as a team. I love seeing every child’s smiley face and seeing them enjoy their
time with us at Annie’s really does make my day. I am passionate about creating a nurturing setting with lots of fun and I think as a team we do a great job of this. My first few months at Annie’s
have been so welcoming and I feel like I’ve been here for years.
Hello, I am Caroline, I am the 2-5 Room Lead and I work from Monday to Thursday
I have a huge passion for play, outdoor learning and crafting. I have a degree in textile and surface design and I’ve always been a visual textures kind of person. I love to promote anything that’s
sensory and love when the children express themselves through creative media’s. My love for outdoors has grown and grown and I love seeing how the children play in the meadows and use the space to
explore and create new ideas. I’m currently training to be a forest school leader and I’m very excited about implementing this within the nursery.
At home I love to play with my 2 children and go on adventures with them and my husband. I love to travel and have a passion for surfing, paddle boarding and the beach. I like good food and spending
time with family and friends I like a good murder mystery but dislike the cinema.
At work I love to be silly with the children and love how Annie’s has that family feel about it. I’m passionate about creating inviting spaces for the children to come andexplore and activities
for them to engage in. I’m passionate about making each child feel excited about coming to nursery and making them laugh even if it is with my terrible attempts at polish and
French.
Hello, I’m Anne most of you will know as I have been part of the Annie’s family for the past 7 and a half years within both the Caterpillars and
Butterflies!
I currently work within the Caterpillar Room on Mondays, Wednesday and Thursdays and love welcoming in all the little ones with a cuddle and catching up with what they have been up to out with the
setting!
I have worked within the Early Years Sector for over 43 years and have experienced a wide range of opportunities within the last 43 years! I had a great 16 years working within the social work sector
with Child Protection and 2 years within the family mental health teams! Over my career I have obtained my full qualifications in early years and have a diploma in child abuse and
neglect!
Whilst at work I love watching the children grow and develop in their various ways as we achieve new milestones together! I love being part of the Annie’s family and love the small setting where I
can get to know all of the parents, children, and staff as we grow together
Out with the setting and my career in early years I have great fun playing and looking after my grandsons Liam, Josh and Millar - I also enjoy taking time to relax and enjoy the sun with my
friends as we pop away to Spain to catch up and have make new memories in the Spanish sunshine - I love to travel and have seen so many places of the world across my travels but Spain holds a close
place in my heart and I love to return at least one a year!
If I’m not busy with the children both at Annie’s, or my grandsons you will probably find me tucking into a lovely afternoon tea with my friends or family!
Anita Wilson – Anita has worked at Annie’s for just a little over four months now after joining the team in May 2022. Anita works within he 0-2 (Caterpillar) Room and works on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Anita worked with children when she was in her twenties before taking a break and she took on the challenge of being manageress of a local Pub. Anita returned to childcare when she joined the Annie’s team in May and has do far made a fantastic impact on the staff team and with the children. Anita is fun, positive, and bubbly which has a great effect on the children. Anita’s favourite thing about working with children is how funny they are and how much they make her laugh. Out with work Anita also enjoys reading books, going for walks and socialising with her friends and family.
Hello everyone, I am Zoe - I've worked in the Caterpillar room, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays since February and absolutely love it! I often miss seeing parents at drop off and pick up due to my hours being 8:30am - 4:30pm but always love a chat if I do see you, so please say hi! I've loved seeing the little ones develop and grow in that time and get know their individual personalities, they make me smile every day!
Before joining Annie’s, I did 13 years in the Royal Air Force which I loved and got to experience some amazing things and places around the world, but it was time for a change once my own 2 children came along! They are both in the butterfly room so working at Annie's I feel like I get the best of both worlds; working in a job I love with great people but also get to see my children having the most fun in the room next door! We all feel like one big family!
Outside of my time at Annie's, I love doing the usual children’s activities, as a family we love getting outside, being it attempting to grow veg in the garden or on a walk in Bennachie - I also love to craft and make things, although I seem to have less time for that since kids!
Shameless plug. but I am also a Usborne Partner, selling their amazing books at local events and in the community you can find my page at Read with me Zoe or using the link on our website! If you ever have any book related questions or requests, come and ask, I’m sure I’ll have the answer!
Stacey Gordon - Stacey is going to be working part time within the Butterfly Room on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays. Stacey is new to childcare but is excited to begin her new career after having her own son Cameron. Stacey explained that she enjoys watching Cameron grew up and meet new milestones which she hopes to bring forward into her new role within the Annie’s team. Stacey is looking forward to helping the children further develop new skills and build their achievements as she too learns and develops her own knowledge as she begins to learn the childcare frameworks. Stacey also works with a wedding company out with her days at Annie’s where she enjoys getting hands on experiences setting up and styling wedding venues.
Hello everyone, I am Kye! I don’t see all of our parents and families as I work on Mondays and Tuesdays in the Butterflies but the ones I
do see will know me and know how much I love to be outdoors and having fun!
It goes without saying that my favourite thing to do at work is to take the children out to explore the meadows and all the wonderful things that nature has to offer! Whilst out in the meadows I
think it’s great to see the children’s confidence grow as the learn to climb the trees, remain safe whilst exploring the water and stream or learn all the creatures great and small that make up our
ecosystem! When in the setting I love to sing and dance along with the children as we explore rhythm, song, and movement -
I’ve loved my past year at the setting as I’ve watched the children grow, learn and achieve and cannot wait to watch the children present and future continue on their learning journeys! I love the
team I work with and have made great relationships with the children, parents and staff within the Annie’s family!
Out with the nursery I am kept super busy by the 5 children and our doggies! My partner Josh and I are looking forward to getting married next year in the highlands where we love to spend our
weekends, summers and holidays explore all that Scotland has to offer! During the warmer summer months, you will always find us touring the countryside as we search for new camping spots and
places to enjoy water sports such as paddle board to which I am becoming quite the pro!
Jenna Murray – Jenna is the home and heart to our children’s and lunches here at Annie’s holding the most important role of nursery cook. Although Jenna may be the children’s favourite member staff knowing she makes and brings there snacks and meals she enjoys spending time both in the children and cooking and baking with the children. Jenna joined the Annie’s family back in February 2022 and enjoys the daily stories she gets from the children as they pop into the kitchen to see her. Out with work Jenna enjoys spending time with her daughter Mikaela and her son Aaron. Together they enjoy going out for food, visiting new places and spending time with the rest of Jenna’s family.
Hello, I am Davina, and I joined the Annie’s family as a relief member of staff back in March!
When I’m at work here at the nursery I love joining in with arts and crafts with the children and exploring their creativity skills - Recently we have begun baking which has also been great fun
helping the children bake various snacks and sweet treat - I love coming in each morning to the smiling faces of the boys and girls across the whole setting and they keep me on my toes across
the day as we explore new adventures and interests which is also great fun!
Out with work and at home, I also work in Huntly Golf Club where I help out to serve the meals and drinks at the weekend and during busy events such as weddings, functions, and other events! After
the summer I am heading off to Study Business and Marketing at RGU after completing my final academic year and The Gordon Schools! As well as baking with the children at nursery I also love to bake
and try out new recipes at home baking for my friends and family - I spend loads of time with my family and my friends and also like to go watch my brothers play football when I’m not baking, working
or at the gym!
If you see me come and say hi if I haven’t met you before, when I’m in the setting I usually cover shifts from 8am until 6pm!
